Hi, there!
Time waits for no man nor tide. How true! Suddenly we are already into 2011 and the month of January is coming towards an end.

The new year again started off with work, work and more work. I really wished to tone down before my official retirement but it looks like I have more work than before. The stress is mounting and I am really lost for words to describe how I feel. I enjoy my work but when things get too much, I hope that I can just drop everything and run away... Ha, ha!

Well, another conference coming up: our 2nd International Students' Conference 2011. We are working in cooperation with RECSAM and ASLI. Praying hard that everything goes on well. God, please help me! Not that I really want this conference but it is a call of duty.

AN has been a great help and the teachers seemed more confident this year than last year. I suppose the previous experience helped them a lot.

VC boys and their Board are planning to come early March. Wow, they are big guns! Imagine a former Minister of Education and one of the King's advisor at our school's doorsteps! Well, hope everything will turn out alright.

Am having mum with me now for CNY! One fussy pot she is. But it is good to have her with me as her physical movements are getting worse and worse. I really do not know how long I am going to cope with taking care of her when she comes home.

This year I seem to be able to cope with anger and what-nots better albeit perhaps a bit late cos after seeing Fr AS for confession and reminding me to always place God before me. I have just done that in every instance of anger..... and I am able to control my tongue. No more of the tongue is mightier than the sword for me! oh, oh.....

Well, Happy New Year, everyone!

Ranting

Very............ sleepy! Why?
I still have not finished my full paper for the coming conference in December. HMS is going to hound me for it, I'm sure. But what to do - am just not up to it. Perhaps I have had such a busy year. Maybe I have been so tired. One thing after another have fallen upon my shoulders. What have I to say! That's life I suppose.

But one thing, I have to say is that I have had wonderful girls to work with. They have been excellent putting their best foot forward inspite of me being so strict with them, expecting more than 100% from them and really stretching them so much. Their habit of rising to the occasion at the last minute sometimes does get me on my nerves! Too much for my weak heart!

I now pray that the exhibition will turn well and of course, am looking forward to my trip to New Delhi with the girls and after that, my paper presentation in Melaka.

LATEST NEWS

Wow!! We're so happy that our girls got 1st and 2nd for our poster presentation at the INTI conference. Good for them.
Was looking forward to a less hectic week when I had to leave for Pangkor to facilitate a course for the new teachers. Enjoyed myself renewing friendships and fellowships with people that I have not met for months or years!
However, I came back to more work - finishing up the SGGS conference proposal, writing my paper for the December conference, preparing for the SBT exhibition (that is one big headache!), guiding the girls for the video presentation before we leave for India!! I pray and hope that there will not be anymore coming. Just too much to take, ok.

What a good trip!

Hi, there!
I was so happy with our Bangkok trip. Thanks to FT who handled the local arrangements with the MOE and the travel agency. I actually had to only deal with the overseas linkages! Anyway, thank God, I had wonderful people in the persons of KS and MS who helped me so much. They were like friends that I have known for years.
The visit to VC and SSRU were just wonderful. I am lost for words to describe how hospitable the Thais are. Everything was arranged well for us which shows the efforts that they have put in to make our visit so good. All of us, both teachers and students brought home sweet memories. What is important for me is the linkages that we have built between SGGS with VC and SSRU. I sincerely hope that these linkages will move onto a higher level of having student exchange programmes!
On the personal side, I took the opportunity to meet up with CYI when the students were at the theme park. CYI was conducting a course on O&M at the RC, MU for nurses under the MOH, Thailand. He took the opportunity to get me to talk about Early Intervention for the Blind! I truly had to earn my lunch at MU . It was good spending the day with CYI catching up with the latest news about our Thai friends and consultants based in Thailand. He insisted that I must see his house and make it my "hotel" on my next visit to Thailand. Well, I missed going with them to the rural areas for training as I had to leave on 18 Sept! Perhaps I am able to join them the coming year 2011.
There are 4 albums on this trip and more are coming in. I have uploaded all in my FB account.
Well, the next trip is to New Delhi, India. Taj Mahal, here I come.

Catching Up!

Well, I know, I have not written anything in this blog for the past weeks..... Just too busy to do so even though I have lots to share. Immediately after coming back from Singapore, I have to take charge of multimedia presentations, live telecasts, photography, etc for HAC. What a job! But I am so thankful for the wonderful team work that I have from the teachers and dear Mr C. This year, I even have the help of a parent who edited our video clip of 1Malaysia. Poor me who have never done a video clip before had to video our girls from so many different angles whilst they're mouthing Lim Kok Wing's 1Malaysia song. The recording session was great-1st time that I have experienced this. Even tho' the price we had to pay-thank my lucky stars the amount was alright with the HM. The video clip was received well even though we the people involved could see through the fact that we were amateurs. One of the singers could not hit the high notes. My videography was urghs! But anyway, we all tried our best! I think the clip was GOOD, (please bear in mind that I am absolutely biased, he, he!). The moment the HAC is over-lots of brailling becos of trial exams and daily work. At the same time, I had to sweet talk to our overseas linkages to plan for the girls' visits to Singapore and Thailand. Praise God! We managed to arrange programmes in HCI, SCGS and NTU in Singapore and VC, SSRU in Bangkok. Woohoo, I am joining the group to Bangkok but at my own expense. I dont actually mind becos I just want to have a holiday and explore more linkages maybe help the school to sign MOUs with the schools or universities! Not that I will gain anything personally but just for the job satisfaction. People think that I maybe silly, dont you think so. Yesterday, another assignment - to get our girls to take part in a conference - make some poster presentations at the INTI conference. Oh, oh, I think I just have to tolerate the word "conference" till the day I retire, or will I ever retire from work? At the same time, I have to prepare another group of 4 who are leaving for India in November with me. Another conference but this one is more of a summit - visits, tours, etc..... Looking forward to seeing the Taj Mahal, ooooooo........ Well, till the next post.

Singapore, Here I Come

It was fun working with the girls on their singing and dancing. Our girls really learn fast. Hope we'll enjoy ourselves in Singapore.
I hope to also link/network with other international schools so that we have more countries taking part next year for our conference.
The Lower Sixes want to have a conference next year-even tho' I am really tired after the first one, I wouldnt want to dampen their spirits! Well, as there are 11 of them in the core team, they can train others to help organise so that I dont have to work so hard next year. Well, lets wait and see!

What a day!

Managed to tidy up the apartment and cleared the laundry. What a day I had! First, the aircon in the car conked not becos of anything but the engine's overheating and shuts down the compressor. Aiyo, have to see AK tm abt this. Secondly, I was cheated of RM42 becos the gas regulator that I bought from BHL couldnt be fixed on the gas tank. When I took it back to complain, they refused to do anything! I then had to go to SEN to buy a new one. All in, I had to spend another RM25. Next, I had to break the pail that I bought for RM20. This is the first time that I am using it!! My goodness, all in I wasted a total of RM87.......... what a day, indeed, what a day! Oh, oh, not forgetting I paid RM20 for the help rendered by the aircond fellows! RM100 gone in a day for nothing. God, help me.
